Sam Blunier

January 15, 1920 ~ December 17, 2005 (age 85)



Eureka - Samuel P. Blunier, 85, of 508 Valley Ct. Eureka, died at 7:10 am on Saturday December 17, 2005 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal, IL.

He was born on January 15, 1920 in rural Eureka to Samuel A. and Dena Wuethrich Blunier. He married Elizabeth Wiegand on December 22, 1946 in Goodfield. She survives.

Also surviving are six sons, Roger (Wendy) Blunier, Duane (Eileen ) Blunier, Keith Blunier, Samuel D. (Luann) Blunier, Kurt (Olivia) Blunier, and Dean (Beth) Blunier all of Eureka; one daughter, Mary (Jacob) Wettstein of Eureka; four brothers, Henry (Wilma) Blunier, Ben (Wilma) Blunier, Lewis (Clara) Blunier all of Eureka, and Homer (Virgina) Blunier of Forrest; one sister, Pearl Leman of Roanoke; 26 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Merle Blunier, one daughter in law, one granddaughter, six brothers, and three sisters.

An Army veteran, Sam served his country during WWII.

Sam farmed in the Eureka area all of his life until he retired.

He was a member of the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday December 20, 2005. Church minsters will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2-4, 6-8 pm on Monday at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian fellowship hall and from 9-9:45 am on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Roanoke. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka or to a charity of the donor's choice.
