Clarence “Ed” Friend, Jr., 56, of El Paso, passed away at 6:30 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2021 at his residence.
He was born April 10, 1965 in Bloomington, IL to Clarence E., Sr. and Nova (Boswell) Friend. He first married Linda Baker on May 9, 1987 in Minonk. She died July 13, 2018. He later married Linda Behrens on January 9, 2020 in Eureka. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jason Schaab of Pekin, daughter, Jada (Brian) Hall of Bushnell, IL; sister, Rebecca (Mike) Craven of Normal, IL; his mother Nova Friend of El Paso; and two grandsons Hunter and Jaxon Hall.
He was preceded in death by his father, two infant sisters and one infant brother.
Ed graduated El Paso High School in 1984. He worked as a machinist for 16 years at SMF in Minonk last working in 2014. He was an avid fisherman and played in the APA Pool leagues in Bloomington and Pekin. He loved being with his grandkids and was a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and well as WWE.
Cremation will be accorded. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial of his ashes will be in Minonk Township Cemetery at a later date.
