MINONK- Velma B. "Granny" Klendworth, 94, of Minonk, passed away at 9:12 am on Wednesday July 22, 2015 at her residence in Minonk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday July 25, 2015 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home and burial will be in Dana Cemetery.
She was born in Minonk on January 17, 1921 the daughter of John and Mathilda Hecht Smith. She married Roy Klendworth in Minonk on March 17, 1940. She and Roy farmed in the Dana area until they moved to Minonk in 1984. Roy preceded her in death in 2000.
Surviving are her children Leroy (Laura) Klendworth, Independence, IA; Sally (Ron) Seggerman, Minonk; Jack (Lois) Klendworth, Minonk; 7 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; 8 step great-great grandchildren; and a brother Oakley "Barney" Smith, of Flanagan.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; 1 grandson; 1 great-grandson; and 1 step granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Minonk Amulance or Minonk Fire Department.
