Gridley - Robert John Stoller, 70, of Cheyenne, WY, formerly of Gridley, died peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at his residence. He died of kidney failure.
Rob was born in Pontiac on January 16, 1949, to Harold and Mary Ellen Alt Stoller. He grew up in Forrest and Gridley. In 1970, after graduation from the University of IL, he settled in Wyoming, where he owned and operated several businesses until retirement a few years ago. On December 7, 1996, he married his long-time love, Wannee Goodenough. Rob loved people and the out-of-doors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and skier. Known for his laugh, his good humor, easy-going manner and compassion...he was one-of-a-kind. Rob was a loving and fun husband, brother, uncle, and surrogate dad.
He is survived by his wife, Wannee, and siblings: Harry (Alice) Stoller of Springfield, IL, James (Jocelyn) Stoller of Tuscon, AZ, and Chicago, Rich (Andrea) Stoller of Keller, TX, and Elsa (Ralph) Endress of Lake Bloomington, along with many nieces, nephews and greats. He was preceded in death by his parents, to whom he was especially close, and one sister-in-law, Jan Stoller. He is also survived by several "children" he loved and helped to raise, and who considered him a second father: Drs. Collin and Connor Chan and Dr. Cheyenne Johns, Sonny Chan, Dr. Farah Husain, Syed Abid Husain, and Dr. Suriya Iqbal. He also adored and spoiled his great-nieces and -nephews.
There will be a private graveside service at the Gridley Cemetery with family friend, Earl Ringger, officiating. Rob loved hearing all of Ralph's stories of the work of the Midwest Food Bank, and memorials can be made to them at 2031 Warehouse Rd., Normal, IL 61761.
