Richard L. “Rick” Kidd, 56, of El Paso, passed away at 12:40 a.m., Sunday, September 17, 2023, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1967, in Alton, IL to Robert “Bob” and Linda (Chinowth) Kidd.
Surviving is his best friend and significant other for more than 25 years, Sue Ann Buck of El Paso; one son, Keith (Kristina) Kidd of Peoria and their kids (grandchildren) Everett, Teddy and Clara; one sister, Jennifer Murrah of Minonk; his mother, Linda Kidd of El Paso; his grandmother, Clara Chinowth of El Paso; many nephews, nieces, cousins; an aunt and uncle; and Sue Ann’s parents, Clarence and Carolyn Buck.
He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandfather, and paternal grandparents.
Rick’s biggest passion was bowling for many years, whether it was bowling, coaching, or helping out in centers and shops. Bowling is what he found to be good at. He loved the competition and comradery. Rick bowled many “300” games. His best high series was 879. Rick won a lot of awards over the years bowling in leagues or tournaments. He even bowled in PBA Regionals and won Champion in 2009 at the Greater Terre Haute Open. In 2017, he was inducted into the Greater Bloomington USBC Hall of Fame, but the biggest thing in bowling was the Bowling Family; he loved everyone and everyone loved Rick Kidd. His hugs and smile lit up the alley. He never walked into a bowling alley and didn’t know someone. The memories of Rick Kidd will live on forever.
He also enjoyed fishing and was a St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and Fighting Illini fan. He worked for Caterpillar for 13 years.
My love, thanks for all the memories we had together over the years. You will be in my heart until we meet again. I love you, Sue Ann.
