Richard Fagerburg

February 14, 1926 — November 15, 2013

Bloomington - Richard George Fagerburg, 87, of The
Woodlands, TX, formerly of Bloomington, died at 12:46 a.m. on
Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in The Woodlands,
TX.

Born on February 14, 1926, in
Bloomington, Illinois, he was the son of the late Ralph and May
(Geibel) Fagerburg.

Friends and relatives are invited
to attend the memorial service, to be held at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman
Memorial Home in Bloomington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7,
2013 with the Reverend Adam Davis presiding.

Burial will be at Park Hill
Cemetery in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory
may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of
the donor's choice.

Richard is survived by his children
Mark Fagerburg, of Danvers, IL, Matthew and his wife, Carmen
Fagerburg, of Spring, TX, Katherine Fagerburg and her husband,
Vernon Baker, of New Britain, CT, and grandchildren Rick, Matthew,
Michael and Marissa Fagerburg, Abigail and Samuel Baker. He is
survived by his close friend and former spouse Esther Fagerburg, as
well as several cousins.

Richard attended Illinois Wesleyan
University and graduated from the University of Illinois, and was a
member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He served in the U.S. Navy in the
Pacific Theater during World War II. Prior to retirement, he had
been employed by Kent West Side Lumber Company in Bloomington and
the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.

A member of First Baptist Church of
Bloomington since 1938, he was an avid reader, lifelong learner,
and a proud and devoted grandfather.
