Maurine Hoel

Bloomington - Maurine Lucille Siler
Hoel, 99, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday,
November 13, 2013 at Heartland Health Care in Normal.

Graveside services will be at 10:00
a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens
Cemetery in Bloomington with Pastor Stephen Goodwin
officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
Humane Society of Central Illinois in Maurine's name.
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the
family with arrangements.

Maurine was born on September 1,
1914 in West Township, McLean County, a daughter to Chris Roy and
Josephine Anderson Siler.  She married George B. Hoel on
September 29, 1940 in Bloomington.  He preceded her in death
on March 4, 1992.

She leaves behind to cherish her
memory, a niece, Ellen L. (Rudy) Rudicil of Bloomington and a
nephew, John W. (Cecelia) Beecher of New Brighton, MN.

In addition to her husband, George,
Maurine was preceded in death by her parents.

She recently celebrated her
99th birthday with calls and visits from many friends
and family.  She was born on her grandfather's farm in West
Township, McLean County.  She grew up on that same farm which
this summer was designated a Centennial Farm by Illinois Department
of Agriculture.

Maurine lived in LeRoy with her
grandfather, John Siler, while attending LeRoy High School.
She graduated from LRHS, class of 1932.

In the 1930's, Maurine was featured
as a "Breck Girl" in a magazine ad for Breck Shampoo.  She
worked at JCPenney and Jefferson Cafeteria, both on what is now
known as the Old County Courthouse Square in Bloomington.

Maurine was active in the Adlei
Stevenson Presidential Campaigns of 1952 and 1956.

In her lifetime, she loved her
Scotty dogs and cats.
