Matthew McCollum

Eureka- Matthew R. McCollum, 36, of Eureka passed away on
Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Washburn, IL.

He was born on June 1, 1977 in Peoria, IL to Rick
and Judy (Payne) McCollum. He married Brandi Craps on May 6, 2006.
She survives.

Survivors also include his parents, Rick (Judy)
McCollum of Eureka; five children, Levi McCollum, BreeAnna
McCollum, Baileigh McCollum, Lexi Crump and Gabby Crump; sister,
Kelly (Dan) Hadfield of Eureka; five brothers, Clint Plunk of
Eureka; John (Jennifer) Plunk of East View, Tennessee; Travis
McCollum of Eureka; Dave (Angie) Plunk of Washington and Randy
Williams of Bloomington; grandmother, Fae McCollum of Arcola, IL
and 16 nieces and nephews.

Matt was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ray McCollum,
grandparents, James and Golda Payne, and his uncle Lynn

Matt attended Eureka High School and graduated from the Illinois
Welding School. He was employed by Tri-C Company for 15 years as a

Matt was a devoted father, husband and son. He loved to fish,
camp, playing the guitar,  and all types of music with the
Blues being one of his favorites. He was a member of the Soggy
Bottom Blues Band. Matt never met a stranger and had the ability to
make everyone around him laugh.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at
10:30 a.m. at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka.
Reverend Don Russell will officiate. Visitation will be held on
Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the
Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Burial will be in Olio
Township Cemetery in Eureka.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the
family. Donations may be made to the Matt McCollum Memorial Fund at
Goodfield State Bank. Online condolences may be sent to the family
