Mary Kaeb

Mary Elizabeth Kaeb, 90, formerly of Fairbury, went to be with Jesus and her late husband, Dave Kaeb, on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 8:15 am at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community in Meadows where she was a resident for the past 6 years.
She was born on March 12, 1924 in Gridley, IL to John and Anna Gasser Rinkenberger. She married David George Kaeb on June 5, 1943 in Bloomington, IL . He preceded her in death on May 29, 2014.
Surviving are five sons and four daughters, Nicholas Kaeb of Fairbury;Gloria(David) Wettstein of Gridley; David (Brenda) Kaeb; Daniel (Donna) Kaeb; Paula(Charlie) Knapp; Beverly(Steve)Virgil all of Bloomington; John(Theresa) Kaeb of Independence, OR; Jane(Dale) Kaufmann of Tremont; Bill(Patsy) Kaeb of Secor; 27 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild, one sister Ellen Gramm of Danville, and one brother, Fred Rinkenberger, of Champaign.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, three sisters, and one daughter-in-law, Mattie Kaeb.
Mrs. Kaeb graduated from Gridley High School. After raising her children she worked with her husband at the Fairbury Locker and later in Electrolux Sales and Service.
Mary was a devoted wife, loving mom, and grandma and will be remembered for her hospitality and service to others. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens around her home.
She was a member of the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday June 25, 2014. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-10:45 on Wednesday prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community for the love and care she was given over the past 6 years and Fairview Haven Retirement Community for the previous four years.
