Marjorie Horsley

Bloomington - Marjorie Jean
Horsley, 82, of Bloomington, passed away at 9:59 a.m. on Sunday,
December 8, 2013 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in
Normal.

Marjorie was born on June 27, 1931 at the family farm in Shirley,
a daughter to Hugh "Herb" B. and Lucille B. (Giese)
Horsley.

She is survived by two cousins, Janine Giese-Davis of Alberta,
Canada and Jeffrey Giese of Frisco, TX., and special friend, Melvin
Bonke of Bloomington.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents.

She resided in Bloomington her whole life. After attending
Illinois State University, she worked as an executive secretary for
43 years at State Farm Insurance Co. in Bloomington where she was
part of the rapid expansion of the reach of State Farm. She was
secretary to top executives who valued her thoroughness and
thoughtfulness.

Marjorie was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Women's
Club of Bloomington/Normal, Farm Bureau, and Eastview Spirit
Lifters. She was a former member of State Farm Chorus.

She was an ISU fan, an avid world traveler and loved music and
theater. She was also a "people person" who loved to meet new
people and enjoy new activities.

Funeral services will be held at on Friday, December 13, 2013 at
11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Thomas
Wirsing officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December
13, 2013 from 10-11am at the church.

Interment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in
Bloomington. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is
assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran
Church Building Fund or to an organization of the donor's choice.
