Marion Ellen Brummitt

Lacon- Marion Ellen Brummitt, 96, of Lacon, IL passed away at
4:45 am on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Margaret's Hospital in
Spring Valley.



She was born on November 7, 1918 in Calais, Maine the daughter of
William and Katherine Spinney Gage.  She married Rev. Howard
Brummitt on August 5, 1951 at St. Stevens in New Brunswick.
He passed away on July 28, 1982.


Surviving are three nieces, Barbara Gage of Manotik, Ontario;
Christine Gage of Nepean, Ontario; and Carol Fabris of Ottawa,
Ontario; and one nephew, David W. Gage of Valparaiso, IN.


Marion was a graduate of the Montreal General Hospital School of
Nursing.  She worked as the plant nurse for B.F. Goodrich Co.
in Henry, IL for 25 years before retiring in 1982.


She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force where she
had received the rank of Corporal.


She was a member of the Marshall County Historical Society,
American Red Cross Board Member and volunteer, Marshall County
Board of Health, and was a former volunteer and resident at St.
Joseph's Nursing Home in Lacon, IL.


Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 7,
2014 at St. Joseph's Nursing  Home Chapel.  Father Tom
Mizeur will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cathedral Columbarium at a later date.
Lenz Memorial Home is assisting the family with their
arrangements.
