Marilyn Schieler

March 3, 1934 — October 24, 2015

Gridley- Marilyn A. Schieler, 81, of Chenoa, IL passed away at 4:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community in Chenoa.

She was born on March 3, 1934 in Gridley, IL to Walter and Julia Schifferer Schieler.

Surviving are one niece, Charwin (Ted) Parker; one nephew, Glenn (Charity) Schieler both of Gridley, IL whom she was like a mother to. Also surviving are nine great nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Kyle, Julia and Emma Parker; Ashton, Caleb, Carter, Ellie, and Anderson Schieler who all called her Grandma.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Don Schieler.

Marilyn worked at various jobs in her lifetime including 20 years at Hart Carter, Striegel Knobloch in Bloomington, First Bank and Trust in Gridley, and State Farm.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Gridley. She volunteered at the Community Cancer Center, Spare and Share, and Meadows Mennonite Home.

Marilyn was a loving and devoted aunt and great-aunt who be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso and from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday at the church before the service. Burial will be in the Gridley Cemetery.
