Roanoke- Mariah Higgins-Nino, 17, of Roanoke, IL
passed away at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Benson,
IL.



She was born on June 8, 1996 in Ottawa, IL a
daughter of Thomas J. Higgins, Jr. and Carmelina J. Nino.



Mariah is survived by her mother Carmelina Nino of
Roanoke, IL; father Thomas Higgins, Jr., siblings, Thomas
Higgins-Nino; Asia Higgins-Nino; James Early; Summer Swearingen all
at home in Roanoke;  maternal grandparents, Deborah L. Nino of
Eureka, IL; Abel Nino of Muscatine, IA; and paternal grandparents,
Karla Bray of Ottawa, IL; Thomas Higgins, Sr. of Ottawa, IL.



She was preceded in death by an infant brother,
Dakotah
Michael.



Mariah was a junior at Roanoke-Benson High
School.  She participated in choir there and loved
track.  She worked at the Hilltop Diner and loved listening to
music and reading.  She enjoyed being with family, especially
her siblings, and had a mothering soul.  She was a fun-loving
person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.



Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on
Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral
Home in Roanoke. Pastor Rebecca Weltmann will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. before the service. Cremation
rites will be accorded following the service.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an
assistance fund for the family that has been established at the
Roanoke-Benson Community Bank.  Online condolences may be sent
