Loretta Tipler

November 24, 1919 — March 25, 2017

El Paso- Loretta L. Tipler, 97, of El Paso passed way at 9:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Heritage Health Care in El Paso.
She was born on November 24, 1919 in Secor, IL a daughter of James and Roma Bateman Moreland. She married Clarence "Bud" Tipler on October 24, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1995.
Surviving is one daughter, Ellen Joyce (Larry) Jensen of El Paso; two grandchildren, Julie (Steve) Sturm; Jodi (Rob) Albert, both of Bloomington; three great-grandchildren, Stephanie Sturm; Makenzie and Morgan Albert, all of Bloomington; and a special couple, Marlene and Dick Blaine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that were very faithful to her and she always treated them as if they were her own children.
She was also proceeded in death by her parents and five brothers, Francis, Warren, Melvin, James Jr., and Franklin Moreland.
Loretta was a secretary for El Paso Unit #375 school district for 17 years. During her retirement, she enjoyed being a part of her Pinocle Birthday Club. She loved spending time in her kitchen cooking big meals and baking pies for anyone that wanted to sit around her table. She was an avid baseball fan and always appreciated a good game, although she held a special place in her heart for the St. Louis Cardinals. Her greatest joy in life was being with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and their spouses and her great-grandchildren. She never said no to any opportunity to go anywhere they were going or to attend an event they were involved in. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bloomington.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 am on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso with a funeral service to follow at 10:30. Pastor Christine McNeal will officiate. Burial will be in El Paso Township Cemetery in El Paso, IL.
