El Paso-Lois Jean Schertz, 79, of El Paso, IL passed away at her home at 9:20 am on Sunday, February 19, 2017 while under hospice care.
She was born on September 23, 1937 in Bloomington, IL a daughter of John "Lawrence" and Hazel Twenty Deal. She married Robert Schertz on June 30, 1957 in Danvers, IL. He passed away on December 21, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter, April (Gery) Giannini of Carmel, IN; one son, R. Scott (Kim) Schertz of Hudson, IL; six grandsons, Neil (Megan), Mark, Brent, and Brad Giannini; Brian and Michael Schertz; two great-grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Irwin of Danvers; and one brother, Richard (Carol) Deal of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lois was a homemaker and had also been employed with Schertz Agricultural Service and Schertz Aerial Service.
She was a member of the East White Oak Bible Church where she was active with the Senior Saints.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock. Pastor Wes Ooms will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4-7 pm at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Danvers.
