Lena Mae Harper, 84, of Hudson, passed away at 10:25 a.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn.
She was born January 30, 1933 in Noble, IL to Glenn and Eva (Rexroat) Doty. She married Glenn Harper on May 4, 1952 at Hudson Christian Church. He passed away on May 26, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by 1 brother Lowell Doty and one granddaughter Heather.
Surviving are her four children; David (Carrie) Harper of Hudson, Karen (Larry) Vaughn of Pekin, Roger (Debbie) Harper of Normal, Marlene (Henry) Johnson of Bristow, VA; one sister, Beverly (Derwood) Schrotberger of Chapel Hill, NC; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Lena worked as a McLean County Auditor from 1983 to 1998. She was a member of Hudson Christian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Church's Ladies Aid. She was also a member of Home Extension Advisors (HEA).
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Hudson Christian Church Rev. Brandon Current and Rev. Bill Vandervoort will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery.
