Kerry John Wolf, 50, passed away at 10:45 pm on August 15, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center. Kerry was born to William J. Wolf and Jean Ann Bates in Champaign, Illinois on May 16, 1966. His parents and grandparents preceded him in death.
A celebration of life will be held at Venue 27, in El Paso, Illinois from 4-7 pm on Friday, August 19th, 2016. Private family inurnment services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso with full military services. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
He is survived by the love of his life, Beth Anne Pelz, and a son, Logan Ruestman, three sisters, Kristin (Dan) Moore, Jodi (David) Hettinger and Jessica (Kevin) Ryan. Kerry was adored by his nieces and nephew, Gina and Justin Moore and Allison Ryan. Special thanks goes to the Advocate Hospital Progressive Care Unit, especially Matt and Paula, Samantha and of course Toni. Memorials in Kerry's honor can be made to the Community Cancer Center in Normal, Illinois.
Kerry went to El Paso High School, graduating in 1984. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after High School stationed at the Daley Barracks in Bad Kissingen, Germany. Kerry loved the people of Germany and traveled extensively all over Europe with his best friend Klaus Engel. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War. After the Army, Kerry came back to El Paso where he worked in the agriculture and concrete industries. For the last several years, Kerry loved working at RJR Transportation of El Paso where he made life long friends. Kerry's endless depth of music knowledge and larger than life personality made him an exceptional DJ.
Kerry had passion for life, loved taking chances and making people laugh. Kerry was a member of the Secor Sportsman Club, winning many trap shoot competitions with his Dad. He was an avid hunter, sharing that love of the outdoors with Logan. Kerry loved being a Dad to Logan, teaching him about lawn mowing and life, cooking and having fun.
Boating was also his passion; he reveled in the trips up and down the river. Kerry surrounded himself with great friends who enjoyed his sense of adventure and accompanied him on secret missions. After walking Jessica down the isle at her wedding in Jamaica, Kerry and Beth made annual trips back to the Jamaican beach for some of the best times of their lives. Their Jamaican friends are cherished.
If you ever met Kerry, you never forgot him. He was quick with wit and a smile. All right, all right, all right! Let's Roll Soul!
