Kenneth Woelfle

El Paso- Kenneth Henry Woelfle.
Ken was born June 15, 1930 in rural Woodford County, IL. He was the eldest son of
Lawrence & Lena Hassebrock Woelfle. He died February 18, 2017 in Marana, AZ at the age of 86.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Secor, IL where he was baptized and
confirmed. He attended Meridian Grade School & graduated from Eureka High
School. He became a Master Mechanic and owned a Texaco station while in Illinois.
On July 1, 1952 he married Doris Punke at Trinity Lutheran Church in El Paso, IL. They
had 4 children - Sharon (Ed) Kessler, Stan (Charlotte), Janice (Randall) Ingalls, & Steven
(Kay). The family moved to Tucson, AZ in 1964 for health benefits. Together they
enjoyed camping, fishing, games & family gatherings. Ken & Doris also enjoyed
traveling and genealogy. In 1978, they adopted 4 children - Marie Matlock, Betty Jo,
Benjamin (Peggy), & William.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, in 2002. He is survived by his 8 children,
numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister, Arlene Punke, and his brother,
Irvin (Donna).
Ken had a strong faith in God and our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a loving & caring man
who touched many lives with his kindness.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in El Paso. Pastor Jonathan Boehne will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
