June Roselin Kirkton

June Roselin Kirkton, 97, of Pontiac, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at The Lodge at Evenglow in Pontiac, IL.

She was born July 5, 1925 in Bloomington, IL to Lester and Lona (Sharp) Oyer.  She married Hugh “Max” Kirkton of January 7, 1945.  He died January 10, 2006.

She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Raegan Neal.

Surviving is one daughter, Sharon (Bob) Hughes of Rochester, MN; three sons, Jim (Vicky) Kirkton of Goshen, IN, Dean (Susie) Kirkton of Dwight, IL, Rick (Gay) Kirkton of Angola, IN; two sisters, Carol Kramer and Judy Robinson both of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

June worked at Meadows Mennonite Home for several years before retiring.  She loved to play cards, do puzzles and crochet.  She was also an avid Cardinal Fan.

A private graveside service will be held in October 2022 at Waldo Cemetery.  Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso is assisting the family with arrangements.
