Julius S. "Pat" Scott, Jr., 82, of El Paso, IL passed away at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 16, 2015 at OSF St. Joseph in Bloomington.
He was born on March 17, 1933 in El Paso, IL a son of Julius, Sr. and Mary Letsinger Scott. He married Ruth Ann Morris on August 6, 1960 in El Paso. She passed away on August 25, 1997. He then married Rosemary Johnson on December 20, 1999 in Branson, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Joanne (Gene) Agnew of Towanda, IL; Barbara Scott of Taylor, MO; Debra (David) Buck of Springfield, IL; Carolyn (Mark) Carpenter of Taylor, MO; one son, Daniel (Milda) Scott of Cibolo, TX; one sister, Vera Rippel of Sherman, IL; one brother, John Scott of Cincinnati, OH; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, one step-son, and two infant granddaughters.
Pat was the owner of Scott's Sunoco in El Paso. After his retirement he worked for Napa and Rebbec Motor Company. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He enjoyed going fishing and playing a practical joke on someone every now and then. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Pat served his country with the United States Army at Fort Sill. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, El Paso Kiwanis, and the El Paso American Legion.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Burial with full military rites will be at 9:00 am on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. Funeral services will follow the burial at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in El Paso.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Lupus Foundation.
