Joyce A. Vissering, 90, of Minonk, IL passed away at 6:48p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.
She was born on July 10, 1929 in Linn Township, IL a daughter of Seth and Gretjke Wragge Reiner. She married Alvin Vissering on June 21, 1953 in Benson, IL. He passed away in March 2002.
Survivors include one daughter, Kim (Dean) Backer of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Ashley McCleery of Minonk; Jessica Backer of Denver, CO; Natalie Backer of Roanoke.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Vissering; Craig Vissering; one brother and five sisters.
Joyce was an elementary school teacher in Wenona.
Joyce was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Benson where private family services will be held. Rev. David Abuya will officiate. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling arrangements for the family.
