Joyce A. Ferneau, 66, of Gridley passed away at 4:36 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, surrounded by her loving family and friends at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Joyce was born on September 11, 1952, in Bloomington, IL, to the late Edward and Dorothy (Schlipf) Witzig. She married Bernie Ferneau on November 24, 1991, in Gridley. He survives.
Joyce is also survived by sons, Jonathan L. Ferneau and Jacob M. Ferneau, both of Gridley; brother, Bill (Conni) Witzig of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Terri Witzig of Gridley; and brother-in-law, Edward Fritz of Morton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Witzig; and one sister, Sally Fritz.
Joyce worked at State Farm in Bloomington for over 40 years.
Joyce was a loving wife and mother. She also was an avid book reader and enjoyed crocheting.
Joyce was a member of the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2019. Church Ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso and from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services on Monday. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery.
