John Funk

GRIDLEY- John Leslie Funk, 49, of Gridley passed away at 1:09 PM on Friday February 19, 2016 at his residence. He had been ill with cancer.

He was born July 30, 1966 in Bloomington, IL a son of S. Roy and Bertha M. Pulfer Funk.

Surviving are 2 brothers, Randall R. Funk, Eureka, and Jerry L. Funk, Bloomington; 4 sisters, Rhonda J. (Larry) Bauer of Lithia, FL, Charlene F. (David) Wagenbach, Burlington, IA, Lori A. Funk, Bloomington, and Karen K. Funk , Normal; 3 nieces, Diana (Greg) Eisenmann, Candace Wagenbach, and Rachel Wagenbach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Bruce B. Funk. For several years John was employed in the warehouse at Martin-Brower, which later became Pro-Source in Gridley. Most recently he was employed in the warehouse at Nu-Way in Bloomington.

He was a member of the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church where funeral serviceS will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday February 23. Church Ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Monday February 22 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso and from 9-9:45 am on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery.
