El Paso - Jim L. Hinthorne, 72, of El Paso, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at his residence.
He was born on November 19, 1946 in El Paso, IL to Laurence "Bud" and Viola Scott Hinthorne.
He is survived by his mother, Viola of Roanoke; two sons, Chad and Kurt Hinthorne both of El Paso; three grandchildren, Jessica, Austin, and Parker Hinthorne; two brothers, Harry (Debbie) Hinthorne; of Bloomington; Jeff (Diane) Hinthorne of El Paso; three sisters, Ruth Rutledge of Roanoke; Pat Blue of El Paso; Janet (Randy) Pomeranke of Roanoke; and one sister-in-law, Karlene Hinthorne of Ft. Gaines, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laurence "Bud" Hinthorne; one son, Scott Hinthorne; one brother, John Hinthorne; three brother-in-laws, Larry Rutledge, Rich Knepp, Dale Blue; and one nephew, Tony Hinthorne.
Jim graduated from El Paso High School in 1964. He worked at the US Post Office in Bloomington for many years, retiring in 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday February 28, 2019 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hinthorn Cemetery at Lake Bloomington.
