Jay B. Albrecht, 63, of Kappa, IL, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at his residence of natural causes.
He was born April 29, 1958 in Bloomington, IL to Marion and Marjorie (Johnson) Albrecht.
Jay leaves behind four sons, Brandon (Laura) Albrecht of Marietta, GA, Ryan (Deloria) Albrecht of Milton, FL, Aaron (Rachel) Albrecht of Burlington, IA and Nicholaus Albrecht of Bloomington, IL; one brother Brent (Delisa) Albrecht of Lucedale, MS; six grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews and an ex-wife Becky Bulko.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stillborn brother Stacy and one brother Kirk.
Jay loved to work with his hands and was a welder by trade. On his own time, he enjoyed making gooney birds, painting, gardening, landscaping, guns, good food, classic rock music and motorcycles. He spent a great portion of his life as a welder working several places in the area raising his four boys. He had an artist’s eye and enjoyed painting scenery.
Jay was a welcoming lighthearted guy with a ready smile and bear hugs for his family.
Cremation will be accorded. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso is assisting the family with arrangements.
There will be a memorial potluck on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 11am-3pm at South Pointe Park Community Building in El Paso, IL. Any and all friends are welcome to join the family in remembering Jay. Bring a dish or memories to share.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
