James Hastings

Bloomington - James R. 'Jim'
Hastings, 75, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Monday,
January 20, 2014 at Heritage Health in Bloomington.

He was born on May 29, 1938 near
Lacon, IL, a son to John and Julia Reynolds Hastings.

Jim is survived by two children; a
son, Patrick (Tatiana) Hastings of Rantoul, Ann (Brad) Kafer of
Bloomington; three grandchildren, Aly Hastings, Ben and William
Kafer.  His grandchildren were his joy.

He was preceded in death by his
parents, and his brother, Gale.

Jim was a 50-year employee of the
GROWMARK System, serving farmers his entire career.  He was a
former president of the Peoria Chiefs Booster Club and enjoyed
rooting on the Bradley Braves and Fighting Illini.

Most importantly, Jim was a devoted
follower of Jesus Christ and was a vital part of the congregations
at Heartland Community Church in Normal, and Friends and Family
Fellowship in Bloomington.  Jim had a generous and giving
spirit and will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held at
10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Heartland Community
Church in Normal with Pastor Roger Pryor officiating.
Following the service will be a reception to greet friends and
acquaintances.

A graveside service will be at 2:00
p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at LaPrairie Cemetery near
Sparland, IL.   Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in
Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may
be sent to Heartland Community Church or Friends and Family
Fellowship.
