Secor - Herman W. Seggerman, 97 of Secor passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Heritage Healthcare, El Paso.
His funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Secor. Rev. Michael Peters will officiate. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruestman Harris Funeral Home, El Paso.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns Lutheran Church or Secor Fire Department.
Herman was born on September 17, 1921 at Secor a son of Henry B. and Etta Dirks Seggerman. He married JoHanna E. Mueller on October 10, 1943 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk. She died on May 28, 2016.
Survivors include three sons, Larry (Barb) Seggerman, Secor, Billy (Ilse) Seggerman, Eureka and Robert (Kathy) Seggerman, Secor; one brother Clifford Seggerman, Secor; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Herman was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Secor and the Secor Fire Department.
He was employed by Heyl Motor Company in Eureka, Caterpillar Tractor Company and later the Woodford County Highway Department where he retired after 29 years of service. Herman was the last surviving charter member of Secor Fire Department.
Herman served with the United States Army Ordnance Division during WWII stationed in France, Philippines and Japan.
