Gustaf F. Ziebarth, 101, of Hudson, passed away at 5:05 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home.
He was born November 14, 1916, the son of Gustaf A. and Eliza (Brown) Ziebarth. He married Mabel L. Hess in Danvers, IL in 1944. She passed away on September 17, 1989 in Bloomington.
He was also preceded in death by his sister Mamie Kerber.
Surviving are his children, Gary (Kay) Ziebarth of Hudson, IL, Kay (Steve) Payne of Bloomington, IL; four grandchildren, Aaron (Allison) Ziebarth, Andy (Jill) Ziebarth, Rebecca Payne, Bridget (Nick) Chinowth; six great-grandchildren, Ty, Alex, Drew, Max, Colton, and Garrett Gustaf. He also left behind special close friends, Judy Ploense, J.R. Emberton and Gordie Hodges.
Gus farmed in the Hudson area his entire life. He touched the lives of many and will truly be missed. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with friends and family. A special thank you goes out to his caregivers Linda, Dana, Suzanne and Oma.
A memorial visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Cremation will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to Shriner Hospitals for Children or First United Methodist Church in Normal, IL.
