Gerald Leman
Eureka - Gerald H. Leman, 88, of Eureka, IL passed away at 11:30 pm
on Friday February 28, 2014 at the Apostolic Christian Home of
Eureka.
He was born on March 21, 1925 in Metamora, IL to Alpheus and Lena
Sauder Leman. He married Velma I. Miller on March 29, 1953 in
Roanoke. She survives.
Also surviving are his four children, Michael (Kathy) Leman of
Eureka; Dale (Lezlee) Leman of West Bend, IA; Judy (Roy) Braker of
Jasper, MO; Edward (Ruth) Leman of Eureka; two brothers, Milton
Leman; Roy (Wanda) Leman both of Eureka; two sisters, Marge
(Richard) Rocke of Eureka; Carolee Unsicker of Peoria; 15
grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Merle; and
three brothers, Walt, Ivan and Loren Leman.
An Army Veteran, Gerald served his country during the Korean
War.
Gerald farmed in the Eureka area for many years and later worked as
the maintenance supervisor at the Apostolic Christian Home of
Eureka.
He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Eureka
where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday March
4. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be
held from 4-8 pm on Monday night at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral
Home in Eureka and from 9-9:45 am on Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
