F. Baker

Minonk-F. Bonner Baker, 89, of Minonk passed away at 5:45 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Heritage Health in Minonk.

He was born on August 3, 1926 in Escanaba, MI a son of Edwin and Susie Bonner Baker. He married Rose Marie Roberts at St. Patrick's Church in Minonk on October 20, 1951. She passed away on October 17, 1998.

Surviving are one son, H. Robert "Bob" (Becky) Baker; two daughters, Mary Bonnie (John) Durre; Michelle "Midge" (Tim) Samuelson all of Minonk; one sister, JoAnn Schmillen of Toluca; one brother, Fred Baker of Minonk; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kimberly; one sister, Betty; and one brother, John.

Bonner had worked for Sally Ann Baking Company in Minonk, served as the Minonk Chief of Police, worked at Brubaker Transfer in Eureka, and lastly for Durre Bros. Manufacturing in Minonk.

He served his country with the United States Army during WWII in Japan. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk, Knights Of Columbus, and the Minonk American Legion.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-11 am before the service at the church. Burial of remains with full military rites will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Minonk. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is assisting the family with their arrangements.
