Bloomington - Having lived all her life for her Savior Jesus Christ, Eula Mae Zimmerman, 91, of Bloomington, formerly of Gridley, entered into his presence at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Salem Church in rural Gridley with Rev. Stuart Rex officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso.
Interment will be in Waldo Cemetery rural Gridley. Memorials may be directed to Gideons International, Salem Ranch or Salem Church.
Eula was born on February 18, 1927 in Plevna, Kansas, a daughter to John and Edna (Farney) Roth. She married Vernon Zimmerman on November 27, 1947 at Sterling Mennonite Church in Sterling, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1983.
Surviving are five daughters, Juanita (Donald) Kehl of Milan, Vrylene ‘Vee' (Steve) Stanley of Grand Junction, CO, Debora Steffen of Washington, Rita (John) Erwin of Bloomington and Paula (Kurt) Sievers of Bloomington; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Charles Roth of Hutchinson, KS; sister, Mary McKinley of Spokane, WA.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Eula taught school in Kansas in her early years and later worked at Salem Children's Home in Flanagan.
She was a member of Salem Church where she was the church organist. She volunteered for the Gideons International and Spare and Share in Gridley.
Eula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and will be deeply missed.
