Emma Elinor Petri, 94, of El Paso, formerly of Minonk, passed away at 9:10 a.m., Saturday, November 08, 2014 at Heritage Health in El Paso.
She was born September 2, 1920 in Minonk to Frederick and Wilhemina (Eilts) Cremer. She married Eugene Petri on September 24, 1942 in Wichita-Falls, TX. He died December 27, 2004 in Minonk.
She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter Ann Marie Petri, 2 sisters Ruth Vittone, Ida Mae Miller and 2 brothers Robert Cremer and Walter Cremer.
Surviving is her son Roger (Barb) Petri of Minonk, Emma Jean (Jerry) Spencer of Edwardsville, IL, Patricia (Rick) Fosdick of Fort Wayne, IN, Joan (John) Weter of Normal, IL, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Emma was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk and its Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to paint. Her artwork was very special to her and she did many paintings for friends and family. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was employed by Petri Bros. Construction in Minonk as a bookkeeper for many years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk with visitation one hour prior to services. Father Stephen McKinley will officiate. Visitation will also be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk with rosary said at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Harbor Light Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.
