Rutland - Eileen Moritz, 77, of Rutland, passed away at 12:34 pm on Sunday March 18, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on November 6, 1940 in Streator, IL to David and Helen Jackson Fechter. She married Wesley D. Moritz on July 8, 1962 in Rutland, IL. He died on January 24, 2015.
Surviving is her son, Brad (Denise) Moritz of Minonk, IL; one sister-in-law Gloria (Don) Punke; one brother-in-law, David (Orpha) Moritz both of Benson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Betty (Gerald) Hodel.
Eileen worked in the office at the Toluca Garment Factory in Toluca for 30 years.
Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family and taking trips to the casino.
She was member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Benson where a memorial service will be held on Thursday March 22, 2018 at 11 AM. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be a memorial visitation held on Wednesday March 21, from 5-7 pm at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk and also from 10-11 am on Thursday prior to the services at the church. Private family burial of her ashes will be at a later date in the Minonk Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at ruestmanharrisfuneralhome.com.
