Edwin Eugene Ringger, 97, of formerly of Gridley, IL, died Tuesday morning, December 3, 2019, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He was born August 5, 1922 in Gridley, the son of Barnhart and Leah (Welk) Ringger. He married Geralene "Pat" Stoller on June 1, 1947. She survives. Also surviving are three children: Earl (Dixie) Ringger of Gridley, IL, Brenda (Brace) Wieland of Grabill, IN, and Gary (Marla) Ringger of Lexington, IL; one sister: Lillian Ringger of Gridley, IL; one brother: Raymond Ringger of Peoria, IL; ten grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Edwin was in the U.S. Army and was stationed in England during WWII. He owned and operated Ringger Feeds in Gridley. He was a member of the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church and served his church family as minister for 35 years and as elder for 22 years. Edwin was well known for his positive outlook on life and his many sayings that he often quoted. He was especially devoted to his wife of 72 years, and on occasion, could be heard saying, "Doesn't Pat look pretty?" Edwin's faith in Jesus Christ was a loving witness to his family and friends, and he looked forward to his "graduation" day when he would forever be with the Lord.
