Dorothy Strauch

Eureka- Dorothy R. Strauch, 93, of Eureka, IL passed away at
3:10 am on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Maple Lawn Health Center in
Eureka.


She was born on April 28, 1920 in Decatur, IL a daughter of Karl
and Bertha Kossieck Riedel.  She married Robert J. Strauch on
November 28, 1942 in Alexandria, Louisiana.  He passed away on
December 5, 1992.


She is survived by one son, John R. (Cheryln) Strauch of
Washington, IL; one daughter, Susan E. LaPorte of St. Louis, MO;
one brother, Richard (Judy) Riedel of LeCanto, FL; six
grandchildren and thirteen
great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.


Dorothy had worked at Vail, Mills, and Armstrong Law Firm in
Decatur, IL.  She then worked at Houdaille-Hershey Corporation
in Decatur as an executive secretary and was later an office
manager at the Washburn Leader.


She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka, St.
John's Lutheran Church in Washburn, and Our Savior Lutheran Church
in Washington.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 13,
2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka.  Rev. Joe
Burns will officiate.  Visitation will be held one hour prior
to the service at the church.  Graveside services and burial
will be at 2:00 pm on Monday at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in
Washburn, IL.  Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is
assisting the family with their arrangements.
