Dorothy M. Pfister

Roanoke- Dorothy M. Pfister, 93, of Roanoke, IL passed away at
6:15 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian
Home of Roanoke.


She was born on May 22, 1920 in Roanoke, IL to Joseph and
Elizabeth Gudeman Pfister.


She is survived by one brother, Marvin (Ila) Pfister of Roanoke
and three sisters, Mabelle (Grant) Rauhaus of Peoria, IL; Pearl
Miller of Portland, OR; and Lois Pfister of Roanoke, IL.


She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Alvin,
Lester, Harvey Pfister and four sisters, Ada, Leona, Ann Pfister
and Irma Luginbuhl.


Dorothy had worked at Libby's in Eureka and later as a nurse in
the neonatal unit at OSF St. Francis Medical Center until her
retirement in
1986.


Dorothy was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church
where she was active in the church's World Relief.  She also
volunteered her time at the local nursing homes and other local
organizations.


The family would like to thank the staff and personnel at the
Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke for their excellent care and
compassion and thank those in the community and their church who
came to visit Dorothy at the home.


Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, November, 2, 2013
at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church.  Church ministers
will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-11 am before the
service at the church.  Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
