Dorothy Myers

June 7, 1920 — March 15, 2014

Eureka- Dorothy L. Myers, 93, of Eureka, IL passed away at
8:15a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her residence.


She was born on June 7. 1920 in rural Eureka, IL. She married
Maynard Myers on November 20, 1938 in Peoria on stage of the WMBD
Barn Dance where they performed as country western singers. He died
on January 8, 1980.

Surviving are four grandchildren, Fred Myers(Julie Alvis);
Julie(Troy) Kenyon; Bill Myers(Cathy Cranford); James Myers
all of Eureka, IL; nine great grandchildren; five great great
grandchildren; one great great great grandchild, and many other
children who called her grandma; two sisters, Virginia Lang of
Tremont; Pat Faucon of Moline; three brothers, Dallas Oltman of
Columbia, OH; Bernie Oltman of Burlington, IA; Paul Oltman of
Frankfurt, Germany and several nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Maynard Myers Jr.

Dorothy worked with her mother-in-law at Susie's Restaurant for
many years. She later was employed as a secretary at Caterpillar
for 17 years.

She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary since
1952. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church
in Eureka.

She loved her work and cared deeply for her family and
friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March
20,  2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka.
Rev. Joe Burns will officiate.  Visitation will be held from
5-7p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris
Funeral Home in Eureka and also one hour prior to services on
Thursday at the church. Burial will be at the Olio Township
Cemetery in Eureka, IL.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran
Church in Eureka. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
