Doris E. Brenneman
El Paso - Doris Evelyn (Kruse) Brenneman, 89, formerly of Lake
Bloomington and Minier, passed away on Monday March 24, 2014 at
Heritage Manor in El Paso. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on
Friday, March 28 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso.
The funeral will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Andy
Huette officiating. Burial will be in Minier Cemetery.
Doris was born on April 4, 1924 to Alfred August Kruse and Golda
Faye Dickson Kruse of Stanford. She graduated from Stanford High
School. She married Lawrence Brenneman of Minier on August
13, 1944 in Stanford. They farmed in McLean County for 30
years where Doris was a homemaker. In addition, Doris worked as a
secretary for State Farm Insurance and Beich Candy Company.
She was active in many civic and church organizations including
Sunday School Superintendent at St. Johns Church in Minier, 4-H
leader in McLean County, the American Legion Auxiliary, and an
election judge in McLean and Woodford Counties. After retirement,
she was active in the El Paso Golf Club and the Lake Bloomington
Association. She was a member of the El Paso Good Shepherd
Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence of
62 years, one sister, Rose Mary Evans, one brother, Alfred Kruse,
Jr. and a son-in-law Dr. Walter P. Oldendorf. She is survived by
three daughters Dr. Sandra Oldendorf of Bozeman, Montana; Marcia
(Ron) Mool of El Paso, Illinois; and Dr. Kathy Brenneman of
Washington D.C.; six grandchildren Troy (Kerri) Mool; David
(Sheila) Mool; Adam (Karen) Mool; Thad (Kelly) Mool; Andrea and
Andrew Oldendorf. She is also survived by great grandchildren
Lauryn, Ashlyn, Payton, Colbi, Tristyn and Brady; one sister,
Marjorie Magarity of Mackinaw; and many nieces and nephews.
