El Paso-Dorathy Ann Armstrong, 93, of El Paso, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at Heritage Health in El Paso.
Dorathy was born to Elisa and Harry Peters. She married Lyle E. Armstrong in 1946. Surviving are two daughters, Vickie (Gordon) Hampton of Lubbock, TX; Rebecca (Ron) Porth of El Paso; four grandchildren, Rob Hampton of Green Bay, WI; Keri (Drew) Rush of El Paso, IL; Jamie (Aaron) Gentry of Springfield, MO; Erik (Rachel) Blackmore of El Paso, IL; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and two sisters, Delores Heiken of Rockford, IL and Ruth Eckstein of Normal, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Robert Peters; and three sisters, Frances Shuck, Helen Brines, and Sherrill Hany.
Dorathy was actively involved in the family farm since 1950. She was a member of home extension and Friday Friends, and was a 4-H leader nearly 15 years. She loved to play bridge, enjoyed Farmers Club, and was a member of the United Methodist Church in El Paso.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. The Rev. Shelly Forrest will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso.
