El Paso-Donald "Mark" Gilliland, 66, of Silverhill, AL formerly of El Paso, IL passed away at 9:30 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL.
He was born on March 8, 1950 in Urbana, IL a son of Robert Charles and Kathryn Ruby Gilliland. He married Donna Jean Baysinger on August 1, 1970 in Pekin, IL. She passed away on May 15, 2005. He later married Barbara Hull.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Gilliland, his children, Elizabeth (Jeff) Mercier. Matthew (Cassie) Gilliland, Allison (Luke) Carr, Andrew Gilliland, grandchildren, Sophia Gilliland, Hannah and William Gilliland-Carr, Alexander and Carter Mercier, his mother Kathryn Gilliland of El Paso, IL; one sister Karen Morauski of Elkhart, IN; four step-children, and six step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant daughter.
Mark served his country with the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion, Pheasants Forever, Kiwanis, and was a Patriot Rider.
He was the former owner of the El Paso IGA until his retirement.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 1-3 pm at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso.
