Dean Barth

February 7, 1934 — December 22, 2013

MINONK- Dean Barth, 79, of Minonk, died Sunday December
22, 2013, at 3:55 PM at OSF St. James Medical Center in
Pontiac.


He was born February 2, 1934 in Bloomington, a son
of Lester and Dorothy Ruestman Barth.


He married Shirley Jane Aeschliman in Roanoke on
June 7, 1959. She survives.


Also surviving are his sons, David ( Michelle)
Barth, Minonk, Steven ( June) Barth, FL; a daughter Vicki Barth
Wilham, Minonk; 6 grandchildren, Jacob and Steven Wilham, Michael (
Sheri McDonald) Barth, Elizabeth, Jordan, and Charles Barth; 3
great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Glenn (Joan) Barth, Minonk,
and Clyde (Glenola) Barth, South Carolina.


He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katrina
McDonald.


Dean was a member of St. Paul United Church of
Christ in Minonk for many years where he was very active in many
areas of the church. He was a farmer and had belonged to the IL
Valley Association of Lamb and Wool Growers. In the past he had
served as Alderman for the 3rd Ward and on the City
Council for the city of Minonk. He was an avid Chicago Bears and
Chicago White Sox fan and also enjoyed playing poker from time to
time.


Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday December
27, 2013 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Minonk with Rev. Ed
Sinclair officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the
service at church. Interment will be in Minonk Township Cemetery
following the service.  Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk
is assisting the family with their arrangements.


Memorials may be directed toward St. Paul United
Church of Christ, Minonk.
