David Kaeb
Fairbury - David George Kaeb, 94, of Fairbury, went to be with Jesus at 4:46 am on Thursday May 29, 2014 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury where he had been a resident for the past 10 years.
He was born on September 21, 1919 in Cropsey, IL to Chris and Anna Rassi Feldman Kaeb. He married Mary Elizabeth Rinkenberger on June 5, 1943 in Bloomington, IL. She survives at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home.
Also surviving are five sons and four daughters, Nicholas Kaeb of Fairbury; Gloria (David) Wettstein of Gridley; David (Brenda) Kaeb; Daniel (Donna) Kaeb; Paula (Charlie) Knapp; Beverly (Steve) Virgil all of Bloomington; John (Theresa) Kaeb of Independence, OR; Jane (Dale) Kaufmann of Tremont; Bill (Patsy) Kaeb of Secor; 27 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one daughter-in-law, Mattie Kaeb.
Mr. Kaeb was employed and later owned and operated Fairbury Locker Plant for 19 years. He then worked as a salesman for Electrolux for 32 years. He attended Cropsey High School.
Dave was a devoted husband, loving dad and grandpa and his spiritual example will be remembered by all of his family.
He was a member of the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday June 3. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 pm at the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Fellowship Center, 21225 E 670 N Road, Fairbury, IL and from 9:00-9:45 am on Tuesday before the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Fairbury Apostolic Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, CNA's, and the entire staff of Fairview Haven for all of the love they have given to their dad, especially over the past couple of weeks.
