Carl William Klendworth, 85, of Dana, IL, passed away at 4:32 p.m., Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Heritage Manor in Minonk.
He was born November 24, 1935 in Streator, IL to Lee and Elsie May (Powell) Klendworth. He married Madonna Gaede on December 31, 1955 in Dana, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Rickey Lee (Lorna Woltzen) Klendworth of Long Point, IL, John Scott (Karen Pierceall) of Washburn, IL; three grandsons, Douglas and Daniel of Jacksonville, IL and Nathan of El Paso, IL; and eight great-grandchildren, Kaden, Miley, Maddy, Knox, Kenzie, Kendal, Moxon, and Zoey.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, Brudette, Roy, Russell and Donald) and one sister (Maxine).
Carl was educated at Dana grade school and graduated from MDR in 1954. He farmed the family farm in Streator for 31 years having a Grade A dairy for 20 years and raising Simmental Cattle. After semi-retiring, he moved to Dana and ran a backhoe business while raising Angus Cattle with Tanner Snyder (a special borrowed grandson).
Carl was a member of Dana Methodist Church and a Dana volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed deer hunting, trap shooting, retelling the deer hunting trips with his buddies, cattle and cattle auctions. Most of all he loved family times, especially with his grandsons and great-grandchildren. He will be missed dearly, especially at the family gatherings.
Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Dana Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is assisting the family with arrangements.
