Arthur F. Falk, 92, of Minonk died at 1:00 a.m. Sunday (June 1, 2014) at Heritage Health, El Paso after a short illness.
He was born April 28, 1922 to William R. and Jettie Kleen Falk. He was born near Minonk in the family's farm home where he lived all of his life. On November 22, 1950 he married Alice Jean Leffers in Minonk and was her loving husband for 63 years. She survives.
Their three children include Michael (Cheryl) Falk, McHenry; Ruth Ann Henson, Goldthwaite, Texas; and David Falk, Minonk. He is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Tucker, Flanagan. His grandchildren include Todd King (Annette Tontis), Trevor, Wisconsin; Ann (Brent) Blaha, Austin, Texas; John (Heather) Henson, San Antonio, Texas; and Adam (Pollyanna) Falk, Indian Land, South Carolina. He has four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Elmer.
Art was a farmer until he died. In addition, he worked for the US Post Office as a letter carrier for the city of Minonk for twenty years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Minonk.
He enjoyed old farm equipment, going to farm machinery auctions, and was a fan of stock car racing. He loved the Lord and his family and friends, who loved him in return for his wonderful model of a Christian husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Ruestman Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation was accorded. Burial will be at Minonk Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Minonk.
