Bloomington - Arianna R. Newman of
Bloomington, Illinois passed away at 8:16 a.m. on Friday, February
28, 2014in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Her memorial services will take
place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at her home church
Mt. Pisgah Baptist church, Bloomington, Illinois with Pastor Frank
L. McSwain, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 10-12
p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
Arianna was born on December 7,
1993 in Normal, a daughter of Antonio and Felicia Williams Newman
formerly of Mississippi. She is a member of Mt. Pisgah church
where she was extremely active participating in the "Sun Beam"
choir as a child, and the Praise Dancers' ministry as a teen.
During her teens to adulthood years, she participated also as a
Children's church teacher. Arianna, while on college breaks,
would share her many gifts in the food pantry of her church as
Arianna graduated from Bloomington
High School in 2012 with a GPA of 4.8. She accepted a full
academic scholarship to Alcorn State University where she was
pursuing a Nursing degree. She participated in several
organizations on campus: ASU Honor H.E.R.O.S., ASU Student
Government, and a Student consultant. She earned academic
excellence in college, as well, by being on the Dean's List every
semester. On her college breaks and in summer, she worked at
Heritage Health Care, Bloomington, Illinois as a licensed Certified
NursingAssistant. She earned this distinction her senior year
at Bloomington High School.
Surviving is her loving brother,
Antonio P. Newman, Jr. and her parents, Antonio and Felicia Newman
of Bloomington. Arianna is also survived by her Great
Grandmother; Dessaree Phillips of MS; her Grandparents; Susie
Hurst-Williams of MS, Dorothy and Amos Newman, Jr. of MS; her
uncles; Amos Newman III of FL, Dr. Anthony (Letitia) Newman of MS,
Herbert L. (Yolanda) Williams of LA, Shannon C. (Khalilah) Williams
A second service will be held in
Greenville, MS at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at New
Jerusalem M.B. church with Pastor Myron Holmes officiating.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service
at the church. Burial will be at Delta Memorial Gardens in
Illinois arrangements are entrusted
to Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.
Mississippi arrangements are entrusted to Washington Furneral Home,
Tylertown and Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorials are asked
to be directed to her family.
