Gridley- Amy M. McKey, 92 of Gridley passed away at 6:28 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Meadows Retirement Community.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Christ Community Church, Gridley. Pastor Andy Huette will officiate. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, Gridley and for one hour prior to services on Saturday. Ruestman Harris Funeral Home, El Paso is assisting her family with arrangements.
Amy was born April 27, 1926 at Chatham, IL a daughter of P.F. and Ethel Elliott Alexander. She married Paul W. McKey on June 17, 1951 at Loami, IL. He died December 30, 1985.
Survivors include her children, Paula (Bill) McKey Peterson, Scottsdale, AZ, John (Pat) McKey, Gridley, Jim (Carol) McKey, Louisville, KY, Dan (Penny) McKey, Wake Forest, NC, Peggy (Bill) McKey Filer, Samanish, WA and Pat (Dave) McKey Peters, Littleton, CO; nine grandchildren, Allison McKey, Carrie (Patrick) McKey Chase, Brett (Stephanie) McKey, Bryce McKey, Mac (Whitney) Steele, Will (Cari) Filer , Melissa (Joshua) Henry, Alexandra Peters and Lauren Peters; and five great grandchildren.
Amy graduated from Auburn High School and continued on to receive a Bachelors of Arts degree in Home Economics from Millikin University. She was a member of Christ Community Church in Gridley. Amy worked as a Home Economics teacher in San Jose for three years until she married Paul and moved to Gridley. She enoyed sewing, reading, traveling, and being with her family.
Amy's family would like to thank Dr. Sam Steffen and the Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community for their loving care and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Glen Alexander.
