El Paso - Alma R. Bonar, 97, of El Paso, IL passed away at 11:09 am on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Rev. Tim Huckins will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. There will be no visitation.
Alma was born on August 4, 1916 in El Paso, IL a daughter of Ferdinand and Clara Miller Rippel. She married Harold R. Bonar on February 8, 1946 at the Methodist Church in El Paso. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Melvin.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Kenneth Bonar of Kansas City, MO; Diane (Jim) Billingsley of Colfax, IL; Greg (Marie) Rippel of Eagle River, WI; and one brother, George (Betty) Rippel of Eagle River, WI.
Alma was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in El Paso and a 50 year member of Eastern Star.
