Alice Jean Falk, 89, of Minonk, Illinois passed away 9:50 PM Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Heritage Health, El Paso.
She was born in Minonk on October 12, 1928 to Gerhard Henry (GH) Leffers and Catherine (Katie) Gerner Leffers. On November 22, 1950 she married Arthur F. Falk. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2014.
She is survived by their three children, Michael (Cheryl) Falk, McHenry, Illinois; Ruth Ann Henson, Goldthwaite, Texas; and David Falk, Minonk. She is also survived by one brother, Lloyd Leffers of Champaign. Her grandchildren include Todd King, Trevor, Wisconsin; Adam (Pollyanna) Falk, Indianland, South Carolina; Ann (Brent) Blaha, Austin, Texas; and John (Heather) Henson, Stuttgart, Germany. She has four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Alice Jean was a homemaker. She also had jobs at Kurrles Department Store and Elegante Bridal Shoppe in Minonk. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Minonk.
She loved to read and sew, making many baby clothes and stuffed toys and numerous quilts which she gave away. She was also known to give away a few pans of brownies. She enjoyed watching stock car races with her family. She loved the Lord and was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of Advocate Eureka Hospital, Advocate BroMenn, Normal, and Heritage Health, El Paso and for the loving support of neighbors and friends.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, June 28, at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. Dr. Harry Sanders will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Minonk Township Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling arrangements for the family.
