William J. "Bill" Arndt, 81, of Rutland, IL passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minonk.
He was born June 5, 1934 in Rutland, IL a son of Henry and Anna Stimac Arndt . He married Harriet Thommen on June 8, 1963 in La Salle, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Yvonne (Sam) Rich of Rutland; Jacque Hillenburg of Sun City, AZ; Renee Holden of Glendale, AZ; two sons, Richard (Rosemary) Rippel of Toluca; Reynold (Deb) Rippel of Minonk; one brother; five sisters; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Billy Gene and two daughters, Veronica and Sandra.
William worked for UPS for 25 years retiring in 1990.
He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Rutland American Legion, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wenona and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wenona. Father Stephen McKinley will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Reilly Cemetery in Wenona. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling arrangements for the family.
