El Paso- Shirley J. Wagner, 86, a life long resident of El Paso died at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal,IL.She was born on November 27, 1932 in Deer Creek, Illinois the 8th child of 13 to Harlan Frederick and Minnie Matilda Brown Underwood. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 8 brothers.She married Ralph McKinley in 1947 and later married E.D. Wagner in 1963.Surviving are her children, Donald R. McKinley, El Paso, Virginia McKinley Lowery, Towanda, Judy McKinley Hospelhorn, Nashville,TN and Glen Arthur Wagner, Hot Springs Village, AR; 2 sisters, Kate Metz and Hazel Miller.She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Mike (Ana) and Mac McKinley, Wendy (Chad) McKenzie, Kristina(John) Fasig, Kimberli (Zack) Hileman, Lindsey (Jon) Porter, Kendra Wagner, Jordan Wagner and 13 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph and E.D., 1 grandson, John Wade Lowery and 1 great grandson, Hunter Michael Guelde, and her long time companion, Don Ioerger.Shirley retired from Illinois State University in 1996 and later enjoyed working at Topsy's for Rick Cox. She is best remembered for her potato salad, coffee cakes, afghans, playing cards with friends and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.Her funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Ruestman Harris Funeral Home, El Paso,. Dale Uphoff will officiate. Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery, next to Don Ioerger, rural Minonk. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
